Voting is going smoothly across Sangamon County on this primary election day, according to county clerk Don Gray. Gray says turnout numbers seem pretty comparable to previous gubernatorial primary years… but he has noticed an increase in Democratic ballots among early voters.
Among the most closely watched contested races are primaries for governor and attorney general in both parties, several congressional races, and the battle for the Republican nomination for Sangamon County Treasurer.
