Alzheimer’s cases are continuing to grow in Illinois… with a sharp uptick in both the number of people living with, and dying from, the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association says in 2015, nearly 3700 people in Illinois died of Alzheimer’s, an increase of 13-percent from the year before.
And the projections for the future are equally troubling, with an expected 18-percent increase in the number of Alzheimer’s patients in Illinois by 2025.
Currently more than 220,000 people in the state are living with dementia.
