The suspect in a triple shooting in Taylorville Monday reportedly turned the gun on himself after police traced him to several nearby communities… and finally back to Taylorville.
Newschannel 20 reports Lee Wayne Kennedy allegedly tried to rob a convenience store and stole a vehicle before police found him at Taylorville Memorial Hospital… where he shot himself as officers closed in. He was taken to the hospital, but there was no immediate word on his condition.
Kennedy is believed to have shot three people, including a 13-year-old girl, earlier in the day in a domestic dispute. All three of those victims were transferred to a Springfield hospitals, but authorities say their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
