Springfield teachers have chosen a new union president. Aaron Graves defeated incumbent Crysta Weitekamp this week in voting among Springfield Education Association members.
Graves campaigned for the post by saying the union needs leadership willing to fight for all members and to make schools safer and more stable.
He says one of his priorities will be to try to lock in a new teachers’ contract long before the current pact expires in 2019.
