Area school districts are one step closer to getting the additional funding they were expecting under last year’s funding reform deal. The Illinois Senate has approved a cleanup bill that would allow the State Board of Education to being applying the new funding formula.
The bill had already cleared the House and now goes to the governor’s desk.
State Senator Andy Manar is urging Rauner to take fast action to sign the bill and let that extra money start flowing to local schools.
