Local activists are calling for full transparency from the public-private partnership that is taking on economic development efforts for Springfield and Sangamon County.
Local business leaders make up the majority of the board of that economic development corporation… or EDC… but the city and county are putting up hundreds of thousands in tax dollars to support the effort.
The Faith Coalition for the Common Good is asking the Sangamon County Board to require the EDC to comply with open records and open meetings laws.
