A watchdog group is filing a complaint against Governor Bruce Rauner, accusing him of improperly mixing his governmental and political operations.
Edgar County Watchdogs says in its complaint with the Executive Inspector General that Rauner allowed his political staff to have control over policy, and points to emails showing First Lady Diana Rauner directing both government and political staff on how to manage various issues.
The governor’s office tells Capitol Fax that the complaint is “lazy and inaccurate conjecture,” but says it will cooperate with any investigation if one is opened.
