Rauner Undecided on State Licensing of Gun Dealers Bill

Governor Bruce Rauner is suggesting that he’s not in favor of a bill on his desk to require state licensing of gun dealers. Rauner has not said specifically whether he will sign or veto the bill… but is saying that he has concerns about “redundant regulation” that he says is too burdensome on small businesses.

Gun dealers must already obtain a federal license, but some state lawmakers say those standards are not stringent enough. Negotiations are continuing on other gun bills still pending in the legislature.
