Whatever happens next at the Quincy veterans home, it doesn’t sound like it will include a mass movement of residents to other facilities. Governor Bruce Rauner says no medical expert has advised relocating the residents… despite the ongoing concerns about Legionnaires Disease at the facility.
Rauner still insists that such a move would be even more dangerous for the elderly and sometimes frail veterans who live there.
But critics say those residents remain at risk while the state decides what to do next to address the crisis.
