Governor Bruce Rauner is declining to say whether he will sign a bill requiring state licenses for gun dealers and whether he will act on the legislation ahead of the March 20th primary.
Lawmakers sent that bill to Rauner last week. Gun rights supporters oppose that additional regulation.
Rauner has until late April to take action, and for now, he will only say that he wants bipartisan solutions that will make streets and schools safer and keep guns away from criminals and the mentally ill.
