Durbin, Duckworth Call Lack Of Rauner Plan ‘Simply Inexcusable’

Illinois’s two U.S. senators are demanding action now from Governor Bruce Rauner as the Legionnaires’ Disease crisis at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy drags on.

Democrats Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth have sent a letter to the Republican governor, saying the lack of a definitive plan is “quite simply inexcusable.”

Administration officials say they will present plans to lawmakers by early May… but the senators say residents and their families can’t wait that long for concrete action.
