There are some mixed messages coming from the state about future plans at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. State officials told lawmakers Monday that they are working on plans to tear down and replace a number of buildings on the sprawling campus to eliminate the threat of Legionnaires’ Disease from the plumbing in those aging buildings.
But a spokesperson for Governor Bruce Rauner tells the AP that merely replacing the plumbing in the existing buildings hasn’t been ruled out.
The administration says it will deliver short- and long-range plans to lawmakers in the next few weeks.
