It’s not the sort of rhetoric you usually hear in a legislative committee hearing. State Senator Sam McCann raised some eyebrows this week with the lecture he gave to state Public Health Director Doctor Nirav Shah during a hearing on the Legionnaires’ Disease outbreak at the Quincy veterans home.
McCann said Shah had failed at his job and called on him to resign or be fired. And at one point, McCann told Shah, quote, “you, sir, disgust me.”
Shah continues to defend the department’s handling of the health crisis at the veterans home.
