ER Visits for Opioid Overdoses Skyrocket in Illinois

Visits to emergency rooms for opioid overdoses skyrocketed in Illinois last year… a sign that the state’s addiction problem is getting worse, not better.

The Centers for Disease Control has released state-by-state data, showing ER visits for overdoses jumped 66-percent in Illinois last year.

That’s a bigger increase than any neighboring state except Wisconsin, where the number of ER trips more than doubled last year
