Illinois Bicentennial Postage Stamp Revealed

The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled a new stamp to commemorate the Illinois Bicentennial.

The postal service describes the new “forever” stamp’s design as “an outline of the state map with a series of yellow beams radiating upward like the rays of a rising sun,” representing the dawn of the new day when Illinois became a state in 1818
