Governor Bruce Rauner is being taken to task for his campaign ads suggesting that Republican rival Jeanne Ives is a “lackey” of House Speaker Mike Madigan.
The Better Government Association and PolitiFact Illinois evaluated the claims and have labeled them “Pants On Fire,” a rating that characterizes the claims as blatantly dishonest.
The group says comparing the ultra-conservative Ives to the Democratic speaker strains credibility to the breaking point.
