Local Events Taking Shape For Illinois Bicentennial Celebration

Nearly two months into Illinois’s Bicentennial year, plans continue to develop and evolve.

But much of the focus right now is on a major event in Springfield on August 26th… the anniversary of the ratification of Illinois’s first constitution, three months before it became a state.

State and local bicentennial organizers say they expect “thousands” of people to take part. Other local events are also being planned… learn more about Springfield’s Bicentennial activities at il200springfield.org.
