
A Democratic candidate for governor is floating the idea of hiring veterans to provide armed security in Illinois schools.
Tio Hardiman says just the presence of those veterans would be a deterrent for shooters… and believes they would be uniquely qualified to detect and defend against threats.
Hardiman estimates the cost of his idea would be $10-20 million annually but says those numbers would have to be fleshed out.
