It was a forum for all of the Democratic candidates for governor… but two of those contenders trained most of their fire on each other.
With Chris Kennedy absent from Wednesday’s Springfield debate, heard live on WMAY, Daniel Biss and J.B. Pritzker went after each other. Biss… who says he will be the “middle class governor”… attacked Pritzker as a billionaire who he says is Mike Madigan’s chosen candidate. But Pritzker says Biss is a hypocrite who talks a good game about his progressive credentials…but whose legislative votes don’t match the rhetoric.
Bob Daiber, Tio Hardiman and Robert Marshall also took part in the debate, which covered issues ranging from the state budget to pensions to guns. You can see and hear a replay of the forum at wmay.com.
