Wojcicki Jimenez Calls for Changes to Address Problems of Sexual Harassment in Politics

A local lawmaker thinks there needs to be changes in Illinois law to address chronic problems of sexual harassment in the state’s political arena. Republican Representative Sara Wojcicki Jimenez is on the legislative task force studying the issue.

After two recent complaints involving Democratic operatives, Jimenez suggests changing the state Election Code to require candidates to have policies and procedures in place.

On the WMAY News Feed, she also said the state Human Rights Act might need to be changed to expand the definition of “employee” to include campaign contractors and volunteers for the purposes of pursuing harassment complaints.
