One of the patients newly diagnosed with Legionnaires Disease at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy was Governor Bruce Rauner’s guest at last month’s State of the State speech. 79-year-old Ivan Jackson was invited by Rauner to attend the speech after Rauner had spent a week living at the Quincy facility
The Chicago Tribune reports that Jackson was hospitalized with pneumonia last weekend, and then later tests confirmed that he had Legionnaires Disease.
His daughter tells the Tribune that she may have to move her father out of the facility if something isn’t done to get the outbreak under control.
