Drury Ruled to Be Allowed to Stay on Primary Ballot

An Illinois appeals court has ruled that Democrat Scott Drury should be allowed to stay on the primary ballot in the race for Attorney General. Drury was removed by a hearing officer for failing to file the correct statement of economic interest.

Drury relied on the document he filed as a state lawmaker instead of filing a new statement for the AG race.

The appeals court says the document Drury filed is sufficient to comply with the law.

Early voting has been on hold in some Illinois jurisdictions while Drury’s fate and other disputed ballot access questions are resolved.
