There’s now a third new confirmed case of Legionnaires Disease at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. State public health officials are reporting the new case, just days after two other cases were confirmed. The third patient is said to be in stable condition.
Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have come back to the Quincy facility to review testing protocols for the illness.
In the meantime, the home is making more modifications to water systems and is now conducting checks of residents’ temperatures every two hours and full vitals every four hours in hopes of detecting any illness early.
