Durbin Speaks on Florida School Shooting

After yet another mass shooting tragedy, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is criticizing his congressional colleagues for doing nothing of substance to keep guns out of the wrong hands. In remarks on the Senate floor, Durbin acknowledged that no single law would prevent all mass shootings.

But he says there are things that could be done to make it tougher for the wrong people to get guns, like expanding background checks or clamping down on gun show sales.

Wednesday’s high school shooting in Florida came 10 years to the day after a deadly campus shooting at Northern Illinois University that killed five students.
