Governor Bruce Rauner’s budget is drawing fire from both sides.
While many Republican lawmakers support Rauner’s plan, conservative lawmakers say it still spends too much and doesn’t cut taxes enough. Rauner’s GOP primary opponent Jeanne Ives calls it unbalanced and “phony.”
Meanwhile, Democratic Senate President John Cullerton says it’s “deceptive” and doesn’t live up to Rauner’s promises.
