State officials are once again trying to pinpoint the source of Legionella bacteria that has now sickened two more residents of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
It’s the fourth consecutive year of confirmed cases of Legionnaires Disease at the home.
13 veterans have died and dozens more have been sickened since the outbreak was first detected in 2015.
The home has undergone extensive renovations to all of its water systems in that time, but has not eradicated the potentially deadly bacteria.
