House Speaker Mike Madigan says he is cutting ties with a longtime aide after an allegation of sexual harassment.
In a statement, Madigan says a woman, whom he describes as “courageous” came forward to complain that the aide, Kevin Quinn, had made unwanted advances and sent her inappropriate text messages.
Madigan says he had his own attorney conduct an investigation and determined the complaint was valid. As a result, he says Quinn is no longer involved with Madigan’s political committees or his government office.
Madigan says this is the only known complaint against Quinn, who had worked for him for 20 years.
