Politicians React to Rauner’s Statement on Handling Of Legionnaire’s Disease Outbreak

Illinois politicians are reacting harshly to Governor Bruce Rauner’s statement that his administration handled the Legionnaires Disease outbreak at the Quincy Veterans Home “exceptionally well,” and that he wouldn’t change anything about the response.

Democrats… and even some Republicans… say there were many things about the outbreak that could have been dealt with differently and better.

13 veterans died and dozens of others became ill over a three-year period… amid questions about how quickly officials mobilized to test residents, look for the cause, and notify the public about the situation.
