Springfield police are investigating what they describe as a suspicious death.
Officers were called to the16-hundred block of East Miller Thursday afternoon and found an injured 54-year-old woman. They performed CPR on the woman until an ambulance arrived and transported her to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, but she died there a short time later.
A statement from police did not elaborate on the nature of the injuries. An autopsy is planned for Friday.
