The latest sales tax numbers will likely cause more concern at Springfield City Hall.
Alderman Joe McMenamin provided the latest figures from the state Department of Revenue, showing city sales tax receipts are continuing to slump. February receipts reflecting purchases made last November are at a three-year low for this time of the year.
The total for the past four months is also down a quarter-of-a-million dollars from the previous year.
