Legionella Still Present In Latest Capitol Complex Water Tests

Another round of testing at the Illinois Capitol continues to find the presence of Legionella bacteria in the Capitol Complex water system.

An email from state officials say Legionella was detected in four out of 300 water samples. More testing is planned, with final results expected in about two weeks.

In the meantime, crews are flushing affected pipes in hopes of cleaning out any bacteria that may be in them. There are no reports of Legionnaires Disease among workers or visitors to the Capitol Complex.
