Langfelder Calls On Aldermen To Offer Plans For City Budget [AUDIO]

Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder is calling on aldermen to offer their own new plan for the city budget after they rejected his request for an increase in the city sales tax.

Unless aldermen offer some new revenue suggestions or ideas for cost savings, Langfelder says the city may have to start laying off workers… including police and firefighters.

Appearing live on WMAY’s Ray Lytle Morning Show, Langfelder still insists the city needs more revenue not just for the new fiscal year that starts March 1, but so that Springfield can keep “moving forward” for years to come.
