Early voting begins Thursday in Sangamon County even though one ballot spot is still unresolved.
There is still a court fight going on about whether Democratic attorney general candidate Scott Drury can stay on the ballot. A court this week reinstated Drury, pending additional hearings, so his name is on the ballot for now but that could change.
Sangamon County Clerk Don Gray says that leaves open the possibility that someone could cast a ballot for Drury this week and then have that vote disqualified if he is removed from the ballot.
Other jurisdictions around the state have delayed the start of early voting because of multiple unresolved ballot issues.
