He’s been largely trying to ignore her… but now Governor Bruce Rauner is directly attacking GOP primary opponent Jeanne Ives in a new ad.
The commercial tries to link the ultra-conservative Ives to Democratic House Speaker Mike Madigan. It notes that during a recent joint appearance, Ives criticized Rauner for calling Madigan a “crook” and said Rauner was “picking on” Madigan.
The Rauner ad says Ives might be Madigan’s favorite Republican… and Illinois’s worst nightmare. Ives responds that the ad is consistent with Rauner’s character… calling him an “unrepentant liar.”
