A new TV ad is generating controversy in the race for Illinois governor.
The ad from Republican challenger Jeanne Ives has actors thanking Governor Bruce Rauner for policies benefitting Chicago teachers or women seeking taxpayer-funded abortions. It also features what appears to be a male actor playing a transgender female.
Democratic candidates and advocacy groups are condemning the ad, saying it offers dangerous and offensive stereotypes.
