House Speaker Mike Madigan isn’t impressed by Governor Bruce Rauner’s call for bipartisanship.
Madigan says if Rauner were serious about property tax reform or other changes, he would have worked cooperatively with lawmakers instead of trying to score, quote, “cheap political points.”
In a statement, Madigan said maybe it’s better for the governor to continue sitting on the sidelines and pretend he’s not in charge… while “serious leaders” work to move the state forward.
