Two synthetic drugs that are legal but potentially very dangerous are now showing up around Central Illinois.
The drugs are similar to prescription sedatives like Valium or Xanax but are significantly more potent. Montgomery County authorities tell Gatehouse Media they suspect the drugs were purchased online by a dealer and then resold to buyers, including teenagers who seek out the drugs because they are still legal in Illinois.
Health experts fear that they will see more of the drugs and potentially lethal overdoses unless action is taken to block their distribution.
