A hometown sports hero will be the guest of Congressman Rodney Davis at Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. Davis has invited major league baseball star and Chatham native Jayson Werth to join him at the speech at the U.S. Capitol.
In addition to his baseball career, Werth owns an organic farm in Macoupin County and has worked on agriculture issues.
Davis says Werth has also gone out of his way to help and support victims of last year’s shooting at a Congressional baseball practice.
