A public-private partnership aimed at boosting local economic development is moving ahead… even though the City of Springfield is still resisting the idea.
Sangamon County administrator Brian McFadden says a board made up of local business leaders has been established… and expects the Chamber of Commerce Q5 initiative will be phased out and transitioned to the new organization.
But Mayor Jim Langfelder says the city still isn’t ready to pony up the money to take part… especially given the city’s own budget problems.
