Medical School Still Dealing With Fallout From Clinical Trial Scandal [AUDIO]

The SIU School of Medicine is fighting to preserve its reputation, and millions in federal funding, in the aftermath of a scandal involving a former researcher who conducted unauthorized clinical trials of a herpes vaccine.

The med school is still investigating the activities of Doctor William Halford, who died of cancer last year just weeks before his activities came to light.

Medical school dean and provost Doctor Jerry Kruse says the school is reviewing and tightening procedures to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
