Governor Bruce Rauner’s campaign is escalating its battle against Democratic contender J.B. Pritzker.
Even though the Republican governor isn’t yet running against Pritzker, his campaign says it is buying air time in every major media market around the state this weekend to air a complete, unedited recording of FBI wiretaps that captured conversations between Pritzker and former Governor Rod Blagojevich.
The Rauner camp says the 11-minute recording shows Pritzker inquiring about an appointment as treasurer, attorney general, or U.S. Senator… and Blagojevich soliciting a donation from Pritzker. Pritzker was not accused of wrongdoing in the FBI probe of corruption under Blagojevich.
