The Sangamon County coroner has identified the Springfield man who was killed in a crash on Interstate 55 Monday.
44-year-old Mark Heaton died when his southbound car left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a bridge abutment, and came to rest in the northbound lanes, striking another vehicle.
An autopsy on Heaton is being conducted… and state police are still investigating the crash.
