Governor Bruce Rauner is defending his administration’s response to the Legionnaires Disease outbreak at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. The governor says state officials did everything they should do in a timely fashion… despite a delay in the initial notification to the public.
But Rauner… who has stayed at the Veterans Home for the past week… says more still needs to be done, including more extensive work on replacing the building’s plumbing.
Rauner also says he would favor building an entirely new building there, but says that’s just one of many ideas on the table.
