One of Governor Bruce Rauner’s former top staffers is now suing the governor’s office… seeking access to any emails sent by First Lady Diana Rauner about a controversial abortion bill the governor signed last year.
Diana Rickert served only briefly as Rauner’s communications director after years with the conservative Illinois Policy Institute.
Her lawsuit says the governor’s office has refused to release emails that could show the First Lady’s influence on the decision to allow taxpayer-funded abortions. Rauner’s office says the lawsuit is under review.
