Bill to Designate Route 66 as National Historic Trail Clears U.S. House Committee

A bill to designate Route 66 as a National Historic Trail has cleared a U.S. House committee and is now headed to a vote by the full House.

Congressmen Darin LaHood and Rodney Davis are co-sponsors of the bill. If that status is approved, it would mean federal assistance with a program to preserve and promote the legendary highway and enhance economic development efforts along the route.
