Busted Water Pipes Hit Department Of Public Health Lab In Chicago

Busted water pipes have been a big problem all around the state and one of the biggest messes has been in the building that houses the state Department of Public Health’s lab in Chicago.

The pipe break Sunday morning damaged several areas of the lab and some of the equipment inside. The lab runs tests on various diseases, environmental hazards and potential biological threats. The department says there is no public health threat from the incident.

It appears most samples were undamaged, and work at the lab has resumed.
