Rauner Vows to Roll Back “Madigan Tax Hike”

Governor Bruce Rauner says he will move to roll back the state income tax hike that was approved over his veto last year.

In a tweet, Rauner said his 2018 priorities are to repeal what he calls the “Madigan tax hike” and to pass a balanced budget.

Critics say Rauner has yet to introduce a truly balanced budget and question how he could do so this year without the revenue from the tax increase.
