A local lawmaker is warning of the possibility of budget shenanigans in the coming year.
Republican Representative Avery Bourne says she’s heard some of her colleagues talk about the possibility of just passing a six-month budget that would take effect July 1st and get the state through the November election. It would then be up to the winner of the governor’s race next fall to come up with a plan to finish the fiscal year.
On the WMAY News Feed, Bourne said that would be a mistake. She says people need a full year budget so they can plan accordingly.
