Emergency rooms are definitely more crowded on this holiday week jammed with people seeking relief from the flu and other viruses.
Memorial Medical Center attending physician Dr. Ric Austin says that there are some anti-viral medications that can provide some relief and says medical attention is especially necessary for very young and very old patients, and for people with severe symptoms like high fever or shortness of breath.
He also says, other than seeking medical help, people who have the flu should try to stay out of public to reduce the risk of infecting others.
