Colder, Wetter Winter Than Normal Expected

If you like the bitter cold temperatures this week, chances are you’re going to like January in Illinois, too.

State climatologist Jim Angel says forecast models call for colder-than-normal temperatures around the state to start the New Year.

Much of the state could also see wetter-than-normal conditions in February, March, and well into the spring. That’s in part because of the effects of the La Nina weather pattern.
